it is with great shock that I received the news of Oupa’s death and I would like to give my condolence to you and the family. It is difficult to imagine South Africa without Oupa, a principled and committed comrade in the struggle for social justice, socialist transformation and solidarity.This is how I remember him from the encounters we had with him in Switzerland and in South Africa. I am very glad that Joachim sent me the website with his writings that will allow me to remember him and give guidance for the struggles ahead. I am grieved and my thoughts are with you who has lost a lifelong companion in everyday life and in the struggle. I hope you can find strength in the love and embrace of friends and family and the community of all those joining you to mourn Oupa.<\/p>\n
