Theresa Giorza

Maria, my friend, accept my deepest condolences for the loss of Oupa. Your loss is immense and your sorrow and that of your dearest Searatoa only adds to the pain of our loss as a community. The family of Khanya is a special family and one that I am honored to be part of in some small ways. We have all lost a visionary and eloquent interpreter and transformer of our lives and times. His words shifted worlds. The waves of change that you and he hav put in motion have shown a different pathway does exist. To join you we only need to take off the blinkers of politics as usual and look for it right here among ordinary people. You poetry reading clubs, jozibookfair and your cohorts of home-based carers are testimony to an alternative future that is already present. With love.
