Sicelo Sithole, 38, is an activist from Snake Park, in the famous township of Soweto. He is the chairperson of Bambanani Cooperation. Sithole is an activist environmental and an economic development activist. He is passionate about writing stories based on community issues.
As a member of the Snake Park men’s Forum, he is able to engage on issues of and about men in society. Sithole has spread himself wide as he is also in the monitoring school of Benchmark, a social justice organisation. Under the monitoring school Sithole writes about communities affected by mine tailings and community development.
One of his goals is to see the Soweto environment become healthier and the soil producing good crops, therefore a place of hope.
“I’m inspired by other activists who have the same end goal of being in a good environment and economic justice for people in our communities where we are underprivileged” – Sithole.
