There has been a lot of controversy around the tenders for Community Healthcare Workers (CHWs) uniforms in the North West (NW) province. The most recent development is that the NW Department of Health has allegedly awarded Doko’s Design Clothing with a tender to provide 6464 CHWs uniforms at an amount of R150 398.00 for a period of three years.
The DoH administrator, Ms. Hunter reportedly signed the offer on 11 December 2020 last year, but still the CHWs haven’t received any uniforms. It’s the fifth month now since Ms. Hunter signed the offer to Doko’s Design Clothing yet CHWs have not received new uniforms since 2016.
