Siyabonga Mviko has been working as an Activist Journalist at Khanya College for the better part of the last 5 years. With a background in the FeesMustFall movement, where he helped to organise student protests at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) and at Wits University. Siyabonga is a Pan-Africanist and helped with branch formations in UJ and in the Johannesburg Metro.

Better known as Siya, he was a member of the Das Kapital Study Group dedicated to foundational Marxist literature to help build an activist cadre, also as part of the Khanya College movement building. Siya continues to write for Karibu! and other affiliated publications. He is a member of the Forum of Activist Journalists. An avid medium-distance runner, Siya is a member of the Walter Rodney Library which is run by fellow FeesMustFall comrades and has facilitated chess to youth organised by Khanya, at the College, monthly Cultural activities. Mviko has a keen interest in questions of children and youth development in the working class and, education as well as study groups.
