Teenage pregnancy is when young girls fall pregnant between the age of 12 and 19 years. At that age, they are still so young they need support from parents, care, and love. Sibongile Jam said the young girls are not in a position to bring another baby that will make their lives difficult.
The causes of teenage pregnancy are usually peer pressure, sometimes sadly rape, and a lack of parental guidance.
It affects the community by increasing the number of teenagers dropping out of school and remaining uneducated, making it hard to get jobs.
This situation also leads to an increase in the rate of unemployment in our community and crime.
She also said that the reason teenagers become pregnant is that there are no activities to keep them busy in our location. And because of the lack of proper communication in our clinics, they do not get enough information on taking care of themselves as teenagers.
