Best Health Solutions (BHS) is a Non-Profit Organisation, located in an informal settlement called Ezimbuzini, Orlando West. The organisation was founded by Carol Dyantyi in October 2021. Dyantyi is an activist who is passionate about uplifting the lives of marginalised and vulnerable children. Her passion for children informed the decision to start their organisation at the heart of Ezimbuzini where the most vulnerable groups are. They focus mainly on caring for orphans where they provide children and youth with extra mural activities, including reading, book clubs and drama classes. Their second focus is on Substance Abuse which is a full-time programme that aims to rehabilitate youth and raise awareness about drug abuse. They collaborate with organisations like Empilweni which is based at Baragwanath Hospital, Life Inkanyiso and Ithemba Clinic. Their beneficiaries are sent to these organisations for some time and back to the organisation once they are clean.
BHS is a small organisation and 5 full-time members, 12 volunteers, 2 auxiliary Social Workers, 2 Social Workers and 2 Counsellors. Their main donor is Keep A Child Alive, which is sponsored by Alicia Keys, an American singer. They have received sponsors from big entities such as Ukuni Furniture as well as Cricket SA. They are also supported by individuals, Miss Universe SA and Miss Global Earth and Greater Soweto Bikers Group. The organisation has brought so much hope in the community, where there were no recreational activities that children and youth could participate in. After school, the centre is packed with children.
