Naobi Dube (20) is a poet, writer and activist. She matriculated in 2018 at Basa Tutorial Institute and tried to be a youth organiser so she can explore more in arts but mainly poetry. That dream crashed in 2021 because of Covid-19 and people are not very interested in art which makes it hard to earn a living from it. In 2022, Naobi joined Khanya College and is currently an intern for the Jozi Book Fair Project. The work is satisfying because it is linked to what she initially wanted to do and involves reading. Although her dreams kept changing as she grew, what was consistent was her passion to help people, especially children. She is still building on her dream of helping the working class and the Jozi Book Fair has been a bridge to working with children.
