Download PDFViwe Mazwana is a highly motivated Broadcast Journalist and an outspoken Social Activist. Born and bred in the small rural town of Sterkspruit in the Eastern Cape. Viwe is deeply committed to community development, solution-driven dialogues and social cohesion. she is well-versed in issues relating to politics, heritage and community integration.
Since 2018, Mazwana has proven expertise in project Coordination, heading Numerous successful projects at Habitat61 Creative Hub. These projects include Walking Liberation Road, which was a historical reflection campaign that was aimed at reconciling KHATHORUS residents from the tribal war of the early 90s that left the community divided and deeply traumatized. She also coordinated the inaugural Ekurhuleni’s Africa Youth Month Festival, an initiative that encouraged the integration of Migrants and participation of young people of African descent in local sports, arts and culture. She has worked and collaborated with Dr Janet Munakamwe a visiting lecturer at Wits University and South African Labour Bulletin board member, Khanya College, Thokoza Monument as well as Integration Organisation for Migration, a United Nations Agency.
Mazwana’s working style celebrates creativity, resourcefulness and innovation combined with a strong commitment to always putting the best foot forward to deliver outstanding work. She is currently Heading the Communication and PR department at Habitat61, a creative hub in Thokoza, City of Ekurhuleni.
