Nakita Frans (31) is a young woman who is driven to change the negative mentality of young people. She is the founder of Arekopaneng Empowerment Organisation based in Mandela Square, Kliptown. Founded in 2021, the organisation operates in Kliptown and seeks to bring about positive change in the community.

The Arekopaneng Empowerment Organization seeks to empower young people in Kliptown by providing a safe and clean environment. The organisation offers a variety of programs, including life skills programs. In these programs, young people can share their stories and come up with ways to deal with the challenges they face in their daily lives.

Arekopaneng mainly assist people between the ages of 18-34 years. They also have daily exercises to keep them active and their bodies in shape. The primary goal of their programs is to lift young people out of poverty by providing them with the appropriate skills. They also offer training to help them build up their CV to get employed, which includes courses on financial management, business management, and many more.

The reason the 31-year old founded the organisation was that she was disappointed with all the social ills in her community. She wants to be one of the people that bring change to the community. She noticed that there is a lot of drug abuse, teenage pregnancy, and a high rate of unemployment.

Frans believes that she can contribute to creating a difference in someone’s life and is a true believer in change. She wants to make a difference so much that even if it means changing only one child’s life, she would have made a difference. She wants people to believe that there are people out there who are willing to give it their best to help the community improve. Young people in the community are being helped to transform by her. They also have a cleaning campaign where they recruit young people to help clean up parks for children to play in.
